Budget Payment Plan
The Clatskanie People's Utility District offers an
average payment option that can help reduce high winter bills. This
option, called the Budget Payment Plan, allows customers to make equal
monthly payments throughout the year. We average your last 12 months of
usage and set a fixed billing amount over a 12-month period. Instead of
paying high bills through the winter months and low bills through the
summer months, the bill is for the same amount year round. Except as
noted below, this option is offered during the spring months and applied
on your May bill. There is no additional charge for this service.
In order to qualify for this option, customers
should:
- Be a residential customer or a small commercial
customer with no demand charges.
- Have lived at their present address for at least
nine months. (This gives the People's Utility District a history of consumption on
which a payment amount can be based.)
- Have a zero balance, no disconnections, and only
two final notices in the previous 12 months.
- Call in and sign up for the program.
Customers with 12 Months of Service
A Residential, Residential Fraternal, or Non-profit rate
customer who has good credit with us can be put on the budget payment
plan any time during the year. General Service rate customers with less
than 30 KW and good credit with us can be put on the budget payment plan
any time during the year. A residential customer who does not have
a good credit rating can be placed on budget payment for a trial basis
by credit and collection personnel.
Customers with Less Than 12 Months of Service
If a Residential, Residential Fraternal, or Non-profit
rate customer requests they be put on a budget payment plan before they
have been with the PUD for 12 months, then the estimated usage will be
based on the previous tenants usage, but not less then $75.00 per month.
However, the customer must have a good credit reference from a previous
utility (electric, gas, or telephone) for the last 12 months, or
reference from a reliable source such as a CPI Credit report. Credit
references will be accepted over the phone.
