Budget Payment Plan

The Budget Payment Plan is available to all residential customers of the District and select small commercial businesses who qualify. Customers must:

1) Have account with a zero current balance* AND

2) Have been:

a. a customer of the District for at least 9 - 12 months at the same address OR

b. on a budget plan for 24 consecutive months and have moved to another residence that the District has at least a 12 month usage pattern for or is able to establish a 12 month usage for and the customer has a zero balance from a previous address.*

Enrollment for the Budget Payment Plan is available during the months of April through June of each year and at other times, at the discretion of the General Manager.

The monthly budget payment amount shall be based on the customer’s past electricity consumption to determine an appropriate monthly average. An annual account analysis with a true-up will be performed for customers participating in the plan.

The Budget Payment Plan may be adjusted for any subsequent 12 month period by taking the sum of the preceding months, adding any debit balance or subtracting any credit balance, and dividing this amount by 12.

The Budget Payment Plan is automatically terminated if customer fails to maintain a current budget payment status and disconnection results.

Re-establishment of a budget pay may be made after the account is in a current status and all charges have been paid by the customer, subject to the GENERAL TERMS for budget payments.

*At the discretion of the District, a Budget Payment Plan may be established, if agreed to by the customer, to pay a budget amount per month as specified in the GENERAL TERMS plus an amount in addition to this amount that would bring existing arrears to a zero balance within 6 months.
