How is the benefit distributed?
The net revenues from the sale of electricity are
shared between the partners. The Clatskanie PUD Board of Directors
decides how the earning is distributed to the customers. Below is
an example of what the average customer will save in a month due to the
Co-Generation Benefit.
Residential Energy
Charge 1,500 kWh @
$0.0353 $ 52.95
Distribution
Charge 1,500
kWh @ $0.0042 $ 6.30
Co-Gen
Benefit Discount 1,500
kWh @ $0.0040* $ -6.00
Total Amount Due $ 53.25
The end rate is $0.0355 per kWh, rather than $0.0395 - one of the lowest in the Nation!
Note: Rainier Customers must add $0.01 per kWh until acquisition cost is
paid. Also customers inside city limits must add 5% Franchise Fee.
* Effective June 1,
2008 non-industrial customers will receive an additional $.002/kWh
credit to their bills, bringing the total cogeneration benefit to
$.004/kWh. This rate will be in effect until December. See
example above. Due to the recent refinancing of the Wauna
Cogeneration project, we are able to pass the savings on to the
customers.
