Emergency Phone Number & Outage Information

Please call (503) 728-4626 in the case of an emergency or power outage after 5:00 pm weekdays, on weekends and during holidays. The number is automatically transferred to a cellular phone and may take a few extra rings to connect.

If you find yourself without power, do the following:

  1. Check your fuse or breaker box to see if they have blown or tripped;
  2. Check with neighbors to see if they have power; and
  3. If you are still affected by a power outage, call the office at (503) 728-2163 or our emergency number after hours (503) 728-4626.

We suggest that you unplug voltage sensitive equipment such as TVs, stereos, computers and microwaves, unless they are connected to a surge protector. This will avoid damage from power surges when service is restored. Another important thing you can do to help the line crew is to turn your porch light on. This will let the line crew know when electric service has been restored.

If you see a line down or a tree tangled in power lines, STAY AWAY; the line may still be energized! Any object touching power lines, including tree branches, can conduct a lethal electric charge. Also, objects coming too close to a power line can cause electricity to "arc" across the gap.

We suggest that all of our customers be ready for any type of emergency that might cause a loss of power, especially in the winter months. Each family should have an outage kit that includes a first aid kit, warm blankets, flashlights, batteries, matches, candles, nonperishable food, water, and a battery operated radio.
